He was shot in the foot by a friend, George Dial. The buckle on his boot went into his leg and it became infected. He may have had a daughter. One story told is; that at the funeral services, his mother noticed a young girl carrying a pretty baby girl. She said,"Isn't that a pretty baby?" and a neighbor woman sitting near her said, "Well, don't you know? That is Lanore's child?!" I do not know if this is true. Lanore died at age 17, the baby's name supposedly was Alice, I do not know what the young mother's name might have been. + 83 F ix. Edythe Belle WORKMAN was born 29 January 1903. 35.
