To read this type of ancestral chart, double the number of the person to find that person's father.
For example, #3's father is #6, whose father is #12, whose father is #24, and so on up the line of generations.
As I hit an end-of-line (dead-end) those ahnentafel numbers will drop out, although the other parents' numbers continue on. When I find more information eventually (hopefully!), I will plug the new names into the page into the correct place, with their ahnentafel numbers now visible.

First Generation

1. Frank SPRINGMAN was born 23 March 1882 in Brighton, Jersey, Illinois. He died 8 December 1958 in Louden township, Fayette, Illinois and was buried 12 December 1958 in Sefton township, Fayette, Illinois. SOURCES: 1900 Census of Fayette County, Illinois, Louden Township, family # 107 shows "Frank, son, white, male, born Mar 1882, age 18, single, born Ill, both parents born Ill" OBITUARY Buried in Liberty Cemetery. FAYETTE FACTS Vol. 4 No. 3 page 23 shows tombstone saying "Springman Frank, Mar. 23 1882-Dec. 8 1958" FAYETTE FACTS Vol. 4 No. 2 page 29.

Frank married Maude WORKMAN, daughter of Isham Douglas WORKMAN and Rosa Belle HEDGES on 4 July 1908 in Ramsey, Illinois. Maude was born 7 November 1886 in Fayette County, Illinois. She died 15 April 1956 in Brownstown, Fayette County, Illinois.

Second Generation going up

2. George SPRINGMAN was born 30 September 1857 near Alton, Madison County, Illinois. He died 11 August 1931 in Alton, Madison County, Illinois and was buried in St. Patrick Cemetery, Alton, Madison County, Illinois. George married Elizabeth STIEREN on 22 April 1879 in the St. Alphonsus Church in Brighton, Jersey County, Illinois.SOURCES: 1900 Census of Fayette County, Illinois, Louden township, family #107 shows SPRINGMAN George, Head of house, white, male, born Sept. 1857, age 42, married 21 years, born Ill, both parents born Germany"; TOMBSTONE; FAYETTE FACTS Vol 4 No. 2 page 29. NOTES: When he decided to marry, he was wondering who to pick, and his mother said, "Why don't you marry Lizzie?" They had known each other for years. Went to Texas in the early 1900's, returned. Started a lumberyard in Alton Ill.

3. Elizabeth STIEREN was born 30 January 1861 in Jersey County, Illinois. She died 10 November 1931 in Alton, Madison County, Illinois and was buried 12 November 1931 in Greenwood Cemetery, Alton, Illinois. Third Generation going up

4. George SPRINGMANN was born 16 September 1825 in Waldulm, Baden, Germany. He died 7 January 1897 in Piasa Township, Brighton, Madison County, Illinois and was buried in St. Alphonsus Church in Brighton, Jersey County, Illinois. George married Helen SEEBACKER on 1 December 1855 in the St. Peter & Paul church, St. Louis, Missouri. SOURCES: IMMIGRATION: naturalized in 1860 in Alton, Illinois; intention papers filed in 1855 stated he had lived in Madison County for three years. MARRIAGE: Fayette Facts Vol. 4 No.2 page 29. and copy of certificate, Book 7 page 427 of St. Louis marriages (spelled Springemann)
